Status: Unknown.Suki Toyama is the intelligence and communications officer attached to the Commander of the Empire of the Rising Sun during the Third World War. She relays mission objectives, analyses enemy communications and acts as a liaison between the Commander and the highest imperial authorities.
A family in the service of the Emperor
Suki belongs to a family that is particularly loyal to the imperial throne: the Toyamas have served the Emperor for ten generations. Indeed, the Toyama headquarters in Tokyo is named after her family.
She is also a childhood friend of Prince Tatsu, which explains her privileged position within the hierarchy. Suki is important enough to communicate directly with him and pass on his instructions to the imperial commanders.
In contrast to Yoshiro’s very solemn demeanour or Tatsu’s rather colder nature, Suki generally comes across as light-hearted, enthusiastic and playful, whilst maintaining absolute faith in the Empire and in the Emperor’s divine will.
The Third World War
In the imperial campaign, Suki accompanies the Commander from the very start of the offensive against the Soviet Union.
She provides him with the necessary intelligence during operations in Russia and keeps him informed of enemy movements, tactics and communications. She then remains his main point of contact throughout the campaign, particularly when the Empire has to face both the Soviets and the Allied Forces simultaneously.
During the defence of Yokohama, Suki notably helps the Commander to gradually gain access to the technologies needed to repel the combined offensive led by the Allied Forces and Soviet forces.
She then continues to assist the Commander during the decisive offensives against Moscow and then Amsterdam, which, in this branch of history, lead to the global victory of the Empire of the Rising Sun.
Suki and the Commander
As the operations unfold, Suki develops an increasingly personal relationship with the Imperial Commander.
She admires his victories and gradually begins to show an attraction to him, sometimes adopting an openly affectionate or seductive tone during their communications.
This relationship culminates at the end of the Imperial campaign. Following the Empire of the Rising Sun’s victory, Suki reunites with the Commander on a private beach on Oahu, far from the battlefields.
This conclusion, however, is specific to the Imperial campaign and does not form part of the continuity leading up to Uprising.
Her fate after the war
In the Allied and Soviet campaigns, Suki never appears directly. Her fate following the Empire’s defeat therefore remains officially unknown.
Nor does she return in Red Alert 3: Uprising. In the new Imperial campaign, Tatsu directly takes over much of the briefing role that she previously held.
It is therefore best not to assume Suki is dead without explicit confirmation:her fate within the Allied continuity remains undetermined.
Personality
Suki stands out from other members of the Imperial high command due to her much less austere nature. She is cheerful, playful, devoted and optimistic, whilst remaining utterly convinced of the superiority of the Rising Sun.
Her role is comparable to that of Eva McKenna amongst the Allies and Dasha Fedorovich amongst the Soviets: all three act as intermediaries between the player and their respective commands.
