Jarmen Kell
Character: ??
Affiliation: Global Liberation Army (GLA)*Role:* Mercenary / Commando*Speciality:* Sniper and infiltration*Origin:* Arab*Real identity:* Unknown Jarmen Kell is a particularly formidable mercenary and sniper employed by the GLA during the conflicts in Generals and Zero Hour.
Very little is known about his past. Kell is distinguished above all by his composure and professionalism, viewing his missions more as a job than as an ideological cause.
An expert in camouflage, he can move stealthily behind enemy lines and eliminate infantry from a distance with his Dragunov sniper rifle.
His most remarkable ability is to take out the conductor of an enemy vehicle without destroying it, thereby allowing GLA fighters to capture it.
This technique works even against the heaviest vehicles, notably the powerful Chinese Overlord tank, and can enable the GLA to capture American or Chinese dozers in order to gain access to their technologies.
Kell is also an excellent Scout: his stealth and long-range vision allow him to observe enemy positions before an attack.
Under the command of Rodall ‘Demo ’ Juhziz, he also receives additional training enabling him to plant explosive charges on buildings, bringing his role closer to that of Colonel Burton.
Jarmen Kell plays a direct part in several GLA operations and appears notably alongside the forces of Prince Kassad.
During the Zero Hour campaign, he also leads an infiltration team on the west coast of the United States, tasked with seizing toxic substances before evacuating them by air.
As with Black Lotus and Colonel Burton, however, his identity should be interpreted with caution: the game allows different GLA factions to have their own Jarmen Kell at the same time.
It could therefore be a code name given to the GLA’s best snipers, rather than a single combatant, although this interpretation has never been officially confirmed.
Jarmen Kell thus embodies the GLA’s perfect assassin: invisible, patient and capable of turning the enemy’s own vehicles against them.
