FutureTech Corporation is a technology company based in Amsterdam and one of the leading defence contractors working for the Allied Forces. Its research was responsible for much of the Allied technological superiority during the Third World War.
In particular, FutureTech develops the Chronosphere and several derivative temporal technologies, including the Temporal Belt used by Tanya.
The company also specialises in spectrum weapons, the Camouflage technologies of the Mirage Tank and the cryogenic systems used by the Cryopter.
Its research thus enables the Allies to counter the brute force of the Soviet Union and the advanced technologies of the Empire of the Rising Sun with extremely sophisticated equipment.
Following the Allied victory, FutureTech experienced spectacular growth and became one of the world’s most powerful technological and military companies.
The company then developed a new generation of experimental weapons for the Allies: the Cryo Legionnaire, the FAV Pacifier, the gigantic Harbinger Gunship and the Future Tank X-1, a fully autonomous battle tank.
But this success masks far more disturbing activities.
Taking advantage of the post-war chaos, FutureTech abducts several Soviet scientists and forces them to participate in the development of new weapons at a facility in Transylvania.
The Soviet resistance subsequently discovers another clandestine facility in Russia, where FutureTech is conducting experiments on civilians using its new cryogenic technologies.
These facilities are protected not only by Allied Forces, but also by FutureTech’s own private military forces, revealing that the company has become capable of conducting independent armed operations.
At the heart of these activities lies Project Sigma, secretly supported by the President of the European Union, Rupert Thornley, a close political ally of FutureTech.
The result is the Sigma Harmoniser, a super-weapon derived from temporal research capable of freezing units and structures in time.
Thornley intends to use this technology to eliminate the Soviet resistance before extending his control to the rest of the world.
However, the Soviet resistance uncovers the project and launches an offensive against Sigma Island, the fortified complex where the Harmoniser is located.
Despite the partial use of the weapon and the massive deployment of Future Tanks X-1 and Harbingers, the Soviets manage to destroy the Sigma Harmoniser, revealing Thornley’s ambitions and FutureTech’s clandestine activities to the world.
The scandal dealt a serious blow to the company’s reputation. At the same time, the Allies withdrew their occupation troops from the Soviet Union in order to bolster security in their own territories.
FutureTech does not, however, disappear. Its spokesperson Kelly Weaver claims that the management was unaware of Thornley’s true intentions, and the company officially continues its operations.
Even more mysteriously, FutureTech has its own military Commander, charged in the post-war period with fighting the finest Allied, Soviet and Imperial officers in order to recover the technologies of the three great powers.
Having completed this mission, this commander was eventually appointed the new CEO of FutureTech, ushering in a period whose outcome remains unknown.
FutureTech thus represents a distinctive evolution of Allied power: starting out as a mere supplier of revolutionary weapons, the company gradually became an autonomous military-industrial power, possessing its own Soldiers, secret facilities and technologies capable of upending the global balance of power.
