General Malcolm ‘Ace’ Granger is a US Air Force Officer specialising in air power and large-scale operations.
The son of an agricultural pilot from Iowa, he discovered aviation at a very young age. At just 12 years old, he borrowed his father’s biplane to fly to the Kansas City Fair.
Having risen to the rank of Lieutenant during the First Gulf War, Granger made a name for himself by destroying four SAM Sites in a single afternoon, a feat that truly launched his career.
As he rose through the ranks of the US Air Force, he gained a reputation as a pioneer in the use of fighter aircraft and developed new methods of fuel management and resource deployment during air operations.
These techniques were successfully employed in Iraq, Afghanistan and other theatres of operations, whilst his squadrons became renowned for their precision and determination.
During the conflict against the GLA, Granger commanded from Fort Belmont, in Houston, Texas, and applied a doctrine based almost entirely on air superiority.
His forces include, in particular, the King Raptor, a reinforced version of the Raptor, as well as the Combat Chinook, capable of transporting Soldiers whilst allowing them to open fire from the aircraft.
His aircraft are generally less expensive, more durable and better protected, thanks in particular to laser systems capable of intercepting certain enemy missiles.
This air superiority, however, comes at the expense of his ground forces: Granger has, in particular, neither the Crusader Tank nor the Paladin, which makes him far more dependent on his air force.
Calm yet uncompromising in temperament, Malcolm Granger thus embodies a simple doctrine: to control the skies in order to decide where, when and how the enemy will be struck.
