Status: Deceased, killed by Nick "Havoc" Parker.Gilligan is a naval officer in the Brotherhood of Nod during the First Tiberium War. As second-in-command to Captain Stuving, he served aboard a Nod dropship and had deliberately chosen a naval career in the hope of avoiding ground combat. However, this decision did not prevent him from becoming a combatant himself, with a marked preference for the Flamethrower.
Career in the Nod Navy
Gilligan joined the Brotherhood of Nod and gradually rose through the ranks of its naval forces. He eventually came under the command of Captain Stuving, becoming his first officer aboard a Nod dropship.
His initial motivation is rather unusual for a member of the armed forces: Gilligan chose the navy because, above all, he wanted to avoid fighting on land. Despite this, he is perfectly capable of defending himself and has adopted the Flamethrower as his weapon of choice.
Stuving’s First Officer
As the Captain’s second-in-command, Gilligan enjoys a certain status on board the ship. In particular, he has his own bodyguards, consisting mainly of Nod Chem Warriors.
This protection, combined with his incendiary weaponry, makes him a more dangerous opponent than a mere crew member, even though his role within the Brotherhood remains essentially that of a junior naval officer.
Clash with Havoc
Gilligan eventually crosses paths with GDI Commando Nick "Havoc" Parker.
Despite the presence of his bodyguards, Gilligan is unable to stop the Commando. Havoc eliminates the Soldiers accompanying him and then kills Gilligan, putting a definitive end to the first Officer’s career.
His decision to join the navy to escape the dangers of ground combat thus proves particularly ironic: Gilligan ultimately dies in battle at the hands of one of the GDI’s most dangerous Soldiers.
