Status: Unknown.Logan Sheppard is a Lieutenant and Commando in the GDI during the First Tiberium War. As the son of Supreme Commander Mark Jamison Sheppard, he has to work particularly hard to prove that his career is based on his own abilities and not on his father’s influence. Unlike Nick "Havoc" Parker, Logan favours stealth and sabotage over direct confrontation.
A GDI Commando
Logan follows in his father’s footsteps by joining the GDI. However, his connection to one of the organisation’s most senior figures is a hindrance: some Soldiers suspect favouritism, forcing Logan to constantly prove his worth.
He becomes a particularly versatile fighter. An excellent marksman, he is equally adept with silenced pistols and sniper rifles. He is also an experienced Saboteur and possesses impressive physical and acrobatic abilities.
War against Nod
During the First Tiberium War, Logan took part in several operations against the Brotherhood of Nod. One of his notable achievements was the destruction of a strategic Nod airstrip.
His approach differs significantly from Havoc’s. Whilst Parker often favours a head-on assault and heavy firepower, Logan prefers to infiltrate enemy facilities discreetly, eliminate key targets and then disappear. He remains, however, perfectly capable of engaging in direct combat when the situation demands it.
Commando Instructor
Logan is also involved in the training of GDI commandos. He occasionally organises advanced training courses for experienced operators.
In Renegade, he is the one who looks after Havoc during his refresher training. Logan teaches him, or reminds him of, the principles of tactical movement, the use of weapons, driving vehicles and the operation of military installations.
A Sidelined Protagonist
Logan holds a significant place in the development history of Renegade: he was originally intended to be the game’s main character.
Early versions and trailers therefore presented Logan as the player-controlled Commando. Westwood subsequently revised the concept and created Nick "Havoc" Parker, who was much more focused on spectacular action. Logan was not, however, removed and was retained as an instructor in the tutorial.
