Status: Deceased, killed by Kane.Christian Pierce is a former farmer from Kentucky who became a member of the GDI Special Forces. Forced to leave his home region due to the spread of Tiberium, he initially sought a better life for his wife Jessica and their daughter. His life takes a dramatic turn when he rescues Evelyn Rios, which opens the doors to a career in the military. Years later, he unwittingly becomes a pawn in the struggle between Kane and Gideon.
From Kentucky to the GDI
Pierce has 23 years’ experience in farming and has served for several years in a militia. In 2066, Tiberium contamination reached critical levels in his region. He therefore set off for Chicago, in Blue Zone 11, with the intention of eventually settling Jessica and their daughter there.
However, his background makes him the object of suspicion amongst the inhabitants of the Blue Zones, some of whom equate refugees from the Red Zones with Nod sympathisers.
His situation changes when he rescues the new GDI First Secretary, Evelyn Rios, who is under attack by a Nod sympathiser. Grateful, Rios secures him a place within the GDI special forces and presents Pierce as one of the organisation’s future leaders.
The death of his family
Ten years later, Pierce returns to Red Zone 483 to find his family. He discovers that Jessica and their daughter have died from Tiberium poisoning.
Shortly after this tragedy, Rios contacts him: Nod has just launched a massive offensive against Paris, marking the start of the Incursion War. Pierce then returns to active duty.
The rescue of Chicago
During the war, Gideon’s forces seize the Methuselah and attempt to crash the vessel into Chicago.
Pierce, who was stationed aboard the Kennedy at the time, organised the evacuation of both craft. He then triggered the Kennedy’s self-destruct mechanism close to the Methuselah. The explosion deflects the Methuselah sufficiently to prevent it from colliding with Chicago, whilst Pierce escapes at the last moment in a Drop Pod.
However, debris strikes his Drop Pod. Pierce loses consciousness and is eventually captured by the Separatists.
Prisoner of Gideon
Pierce is captured and tortured for an unspecified period. Gideon attempts to convert him to his own doctrine, according to which the true messenger is Tiberium itself, not Kane.
The Separatist leader then orders him to enter an abandoned library in order to access an old GDI database containing information on Kane.
Pierce refuses, but Gideon uses a control implant fitted around his neck to inflict intense pain on him. Forced to obey and hoping to find an opportunity to escape, Pierce finally accepts the mission.
Encounter with Kane
Equipped with an old Nod infantry suit, Pierce engages GDI forces and manages to reach the database.
There, however, he discovers Kane himself.
Kane then reveals that the events which shaped Pierce’s life were manipulated to lead him precisely to this location. Realising he has been nothing more than a pawn, Pierce flies into an uncontrollable rage and attacks the Prophet.
Kane reacts immediately and shoots him in the head, bringing his journey to an end.
