Status: Unknown.Adriana Maus is a GDI lieutenant serving as the first assistant to Brigadier General Adam Locke. As a mission operator and communications specialist, her role includes providing operational control for Nick "Havoc" Parker, to whom she relays orders, new objectives and information from headquarters.
From the US Navy to the GDI
Before joining the GDI, Maus served in the United States Navy, where she had already attained the rank of Lieutenant. She received several decorations during her career, including the Navy Expeditionary Medal, before being transferred to the GDI.
Her training included, in particular, the use of radar systems and E.V.A. units, which naturally suited her to roles in command, intelligence and communications.
Adam Locke’s Assistant
Maus becomes the chief assistant to Brigadier General Adam Locke, head of the GDI’s special operations. She works alongside him from the Helicopter Carrier that serves as a mobile Command Hub for his forces. Her presence alongside Locke is particularly evident when Havoc returns on board after his first operations against Nod.
She thus occupies a position between high command and the Soldiers deployed in the field.
Havoc’s mission control
One of Maus’s main responsibilities is to act as mission control for Nick "Havoc" Parker. She informs him of changes to objectives, relays Locke’s instructions and coordinates his actions with local GDI units as required.
Her role is particularly important given Havoc’s independent nature. Whilst he often operates alone behind enemy lines, Maus enables him to remain connected to the GDI’s military command structure and to receive the intelligence necessary to carry out his missions swiftly.
Training and skills
Maus’s role is not limited to communications. She also takes part in the training of GDI Commandos, notably teaching them to identify the various warning sirens at a base as well as the signs indicating that a building has been damaged. These exercises are carried out as part of assault simulations.
She is also qualified as a radar and EVA operator and is trained in the use of the Kestrel Grenade Launcher, a relatively heavy weapon for an Officer primarily assigned to operations control.
Role
Adriana Maus essentially acts as the operational link between Adam Locke and Havoc. Locke sets out the broad guidelines for the mission, whilst Maus ensures these are communicated and supports the Commando unit during their execution.
Her experience in the navy, her expertise in communications and her knowledge of E.V.A. systems therefore make her more than just an aide-de-camp: she is a true tactical operator, capable of coordinating units on the ground and supporting Commandos engaged behind Nod’s lines.
