Status: Alive at the time of her last appearance.Karen Lively is a journalist and presenter for the TX Network in 2077. She appears in several news segments covering the global situation, the Tiberium Control Network and the growing tensions between the GDI, Kane and the dissident factions of Nod.
TX Network presenter
Lively presents programmes such as War Journal and Today in the World. Her reports serve to inform the public about developments in the political and military situation at a time when the Tiberium Control Network (TCN) is nearing completion.
She thus plays a role comparable to that of other journalists who emerged during the Tiberium Wars: her reports offer a media perspective on events that commanders experience primarily from a military standpoint.
Kane and the Separatists
One of her well-known appearances took place on 2 May 2077. Lively reported on Kane’s reaction to the actions of Nod extremists led by Gideon.
Kane publicly condemns these radicals and asserts that he has no connection with Gideon and his separatist faction. This statement comes at a time when tensions surrounding the TCN are mounting and attacks by Nod dissidents are threatening its construction.
Lively’s reports thus illustrate how the public receives Kane’s public statements and how the crisis is portrayed by the international media.
Role
Karen Lively remains a secondary character whose personal life is not explored in depth. Her significance lies primarily in her role as a media witness to the events of 2077.
Through TX Network, she chronicles the final phase of the Tiberium saga, as the completion of the TCN, the Separatist rebellion and Kane’s true intentions gradually lead to the Fourth Tiberium War.
