Adela ‘Nitro’ Baskova is a GLA explosives specialist who was due to appear in Command & Conquer: Generals 2.

Born in a refugee camp on the Russian-Georgian border, she was orphaned shortly after birth and spent much of her childhood begging on the impoverished streets of Grozny.

Her life was turned upside down when she met a GLA bomb disposal expert, who took her under his wing and taught her how to make and plant high-powered explosives.

After her mentor was killed by a unit of European special forces, Adela made her way to Western Europe and waged a solitary campaign of bomb attacks for over a year.

Eventually captured and sentenced to death, she organises her own escape using a series of improvised explosives, before joining a local GLA cell.

Her talent, determination and ability to survive enabled her to become the organisation’s leading Demolition specialist, succeeding Rodall ‘Demo’ Juhziz in this role.

Nicknamed ‘Nitro’, Baskova favours close-quarters combat: her forces must get dangerously close to the enemy, but become extremely destructive once within range.

Her arsenal was said to include Terrorists, booby-trapped vehicles, Black Market tanks, nuclear lorries and toxic Artillery, accompanied by various units specialising in infiltration.

She could also deploy white phosphorus as a support ability, further enhancing her army’s destructive potential.

Small in stature and naturally quiet, Adela stands in stark contrast to the spectacular violence of her methods and is distinguished by her ability to improvise and survive in the most desperate situations.

Adela ‘Nitro’ Baskova was thus intended to embody the new generation of GLA bomb-makers: a discreet fighter whose explosives speak for her.
