Status: Killed in the Kodiak crash.Chandra is a GDI Officer and the second-in-command to Cdr.Michael McNeil during the Second Tiberium War. More than just a subordinate, he is also his best friend and one of his closest companions in the fight against the Brotherhood of Nod.
Cdr. McNeil’s second-in-command
As a first lieutenant, Chandra serves alongside Cdr. McNeil aboard the Kodiak, the command vessel used by GDI forces during the war.
He is notably the co-pilot, but his responsibilities are not limited to aerial operations. Chandra regularly accompanies Cdr. McNeil off the Kodiak to take a direct part in reconnaissance missions and combat on the ground.
This close working relationship explains the particularly strong bond between the two men: Chandra is both Cdr. McNeil’s second-in-command and his best friend.
The Second Tiberium War
Chandra accompanies Cdr. McNeil during his campaign against Kane’s forces. He is part of the Kodiak’s permanent crew and thus takes part in the command’s movements between the various theatres of operations.
His position sets him apart from a mere crew member: whenever a situation calls for direct intervention, he does not hesitate to leave the ship to fight alongside Cdr. McNeil.
He survives the war and the defeat of Nod, but meets his end shortly afterwards.
The Tacitus and the Kodiak’s final flight
Following the GDI’s victory, the Tacitus, recovered from Nod’s facilities, is to be transported from Kane’s Pyramid in Cairo to the complex where Tratos works.
Chandra is on board the Kodiak during this operation.
During the journey, the ship is caught in a violent ionic storm. The disturbances become too severe and the crew lose control of the craft.
The Kodiak eventually crashes on the north coast of Egypt.
There are no survivors amongst the crew: Chandra dies in the crash, along with the Pilot Brink, amongst others.
Chandra’s death thus deprives Cdr. McNeil of his second-in-command and, above all, his best friend, shortly after their victory over Kane.
Personality and role
Chandra comes across as a loyal, courageous and hands-on Officer. Despite his role as co-pilot and deputy to the Commander, he regularly prefers to accompany Cdr. McNeil into dangerous areas rather than remain on board the Kodiak.
This attitude highlights the trust between the two men and explains why Chandra holds a special place within Cdr. McNeil’s inner circle.
