The Allied Forces are one of the main factions in the Red Alert universe. They bring together various Western democracies to defend their territories and prevent the expansion of the Soviet Union.
They were first formed in the 1940s, when Joseph Stalin took advantage of Hitler’s absence in this alternate timeline to extend Soviet influence across Europe and Asia.
Faced with invasions and communist governments being imposed in Eastern Europe, several European and North American nations formed a military coalition. Its main members at the time included Great Britain, France, Germany, Greece, Spain and Turkey.
The Allied command is established in London, under the authority of General Gunter von Esling, assisted by Nikos Stavros. The Allies then wage a defensive war against a numerically superior Red Army.
Their doctrine already emphasised mobility and precision: medium and light tanks, Artillery, Tank Destroyer, Cruisers and aircraft enabled them to counterbalance the brute force of the Soviet forces.
The Allies also have access to the inventions of Albert Einstein, notably the Chronosphere, a technology capable of instantly transporting units across space.
After a lengthy counter-offensive, their armies finally reached Moscow and overthrew Stalin, bringing an end to the Second World War in this timeline.
Peace remains, however, only temporary. Several decades later, the Soviet Union, led by Alexis Romanov, launches a surprise invasion of the United States, triggering a new world war.
The United States then becomes the heart of the Allied coalition, under the presidency of Michael Dugan and with General Ben Carville among its leading military figures.
This new generation of Allies possesses a far more sophisticated arsenal, relying in particular on Grizzly, Mirage and Prism tanks, IFVs, Harriers, Aircraft Carriers and teleportation technologies.
The coalition also welcomed several nations with their own military specialities, whilst agents such as Tanya became iconic figures in its special operations.
The Allies eventually repel the Soviet invasion and win the war, but must almost immediately face Yuri, whose psychic army threatens to take control of the planet.
Following Yuri’s defeat, a new temporal disruption once again upends history and leads to the events of Red Alert 3.
In this new timeline, the Allies still form a vast Western coalition. Their European command is led by Field Marshal Robert Bingham, whilst Howard T. Ackerman leads the United States.
The Soviet invasion of Europe is halted by the emergence of a third protagonist: the Empire of the Rising Sun, which has become a superpower thanks to the unforeseen consequences of Soviet temporal manipulations.
Faced with this threat, Bingham agrees to a temporary alliance with the Soviet Union, believing that neither side can defeat the Empire on its own.
This cooperation enables them to repel the Japanese before the Allies uncover Cherdenko’s plans and ultimately resume the war against Moscow.
In the Allied campaign, their forces secure victory over the other two superpowers and once again assert their international dominance.
After the war, however, this dominance is accompanied by the growing influence of FutureTech, whose activities and ambitions become one of the main issues at stake in Uprising.
Despite the significant differences between the three eras, the Allied military philosophy remains relatively consistent: prioritising technology, mobility, intelligence and precision strikes over the brute force characteristic of the Soviet Union. The official Red Alert 3 website, moreover, presented them as a Western coalition defending free peoples whilst prioritising non-violent solutions wherever possible.
The Allied Forces thus embody the main counterweight to the Soviet Union in the Red Alert saga: an alliance formed to stop Stalin, transformed over the course of wars and temporal shifts, but constantly rebuilt around the same objective of collective defence against expansionist powers.
