Mose ‘Wild Dog’ Akinjide is a Sudanese warlord and GLA General who was due to appear in Command & Conquer: Generals 2.
His life was turned upside down from the moment he was born, when he was torn from his mother’s arms during a violent raid by the Janjaweed on his village.
Whilst still a child, he was sold to a lawless rebel army and, from the age of six, roamed the battlefields stripping corpses and salvaging equipment for his new Masterminds.
Five years later, Akinjide had become a full-fledged child soldier, wielding his AK-47 with more enthusiasm than accuracy.
His brutality and fearlessness quickly earned him a fearsome reputation and gradually enabled him to take command of the group that had once enslaved him.
When the GLA began to extend its influence across the African continent, its leaders made contact with him.
Akinjide accepted their proposal and integrated his fighters into the GLA, before leading a series of particularly violent raids against the organisation’s designated enemies.
His methods and reputation earned him the nickname ‘Wild Dog’, making him one of the GLA’s most feared operatives in the region.
His doctrine is based above all on the recovery and utilisation of available equipment, continuing the methods he has practised since childhood.
His signature unit was to be the Marauder Mk. II, an upgraded version of the Marauder Tank and perfectly suited to this philosophy.
His arsenal was also said to include Rebels, Insurgents, Terrorists, Technicals, Sandstorms, toxic units and infiltration vehicles, as well as powerful support in the form of RPG barrages.
Akinjide was thus to embody the GLA’s historic ability to scavenge, improvise and turn the resources of the battlefield against technologically superior adversaries.
Mose ‘Wild Dog’ Akinjide ultimately represents a warlord shaped by conflict from childhood: a survivor turned predator, capable of transforming the debris left behind by his enemies into weapons for his next battle.
