Status: Killed at the end of both campaigns Parker is a GDI Commander and the player-controlled protagonist during the events of Tiberium Twilight. A veteran of the Incursion War, he is seriously wounded and loses his sight. Dr Johann Pascal then fits him with an experimental optical implant which, unbeknown to him, utilises technology derived from the Tacitus. This implant ultimately makes Parker a key part of Kane’s Ascension plan.
Parker’s implant
The implant does more than simply restore the Commander’s sight. It connects him to the Tiberium Control Network (TCN) as well as to Threshold 19, the last Scrin Tower remaining on Earth. Parker is initially unaware of the significance of this connection.
He then serves aboard the GST Tzadik under the command of Colonel Louise James. After several missions, he is faced with a crucial choice: to remain alongside James and the GDI, or to join Kane and the Brotherhood of Nod. The two campaigns present different versions of his fate, and neither has been officially designated as the sole canonical storyline.
By remaining loyal to the GDI, Parker becomes Louise James’s second-in-command. James is convinced that Kane is manipulating the GDI and using the TCN to reactivate Threshold 19.
When her superiors refuse to believe her, James rebels and attempts to seize control of the government. Her coup fails and she is arrested along with Parker and several of her Officers. They are, however, secretly freed by Duquette, who sends them to Threshold 19 to prevent Kane from carrying out his plan.
In the Tower, Kane reveals to Parker that James knew the true cause of his wife’s death: Lillian Parker had been killed by friendly fire from the GDI, not by Nod. James had hidden the truth from him in order to fuel his hatred of the Brotherhood of Nod.
Fearing that Parker’s implant might activate the Scrin portal, James shoots him. Kane then intervenes, kills James and steps through the Portal. Mortally wounded, Parker sees one last vision of Lillian before he dies.
Upon joining Kane, Parker instead becomes a key part of the Ascension plan. He is the last Carryall with an implant capable of activating Threshold 19, the other implant recipients having been eliminated by Gideon’s forces.
Kane goes even further: Parker undergoes surgery designed to give him the appearance of the Prophet. Drugged before the operation and without having truly consented to this transformation, he becomes Kane’s public double. He then leads the forces of Nod, captures Gideon and helps to reunite the Brotherhood of Nod.
During the final battle at Threshold 19, Parker enables the forces of Nod to take control of the TCN nodes required to activate the Tower.
Inside, Louise James mistakes him for Kane and shoots him at point-blank range. The real Kane then appears, kills James and capitalises on his double’s sacrifice. Despite his injuries, Parker manages to open the Portal, allowing Kane and his followers to complete their Ascension.
Lillian Parker
Parker’s relationship with his wife Lillian is one of the main personal driving forces behind his story. Her death fuels his hatred of Nod, a sentiment that Louise James exploits by concealing from him the fact that she was actually the victim of friendly fire.
In the Nod campaign, Lillian remains by her husband’s side until the very end. After the Portal is opened and Kane has departed, she finds Parker dying and weeps over his body as he passes away.
