Status: Alive following the Firestorm Crisis.Gabriella Boudreau is one of the GDI’s leading scientists and a recognised expert on Tiberium. Carrying on the work of Dr Ignatio Mobius, she leads the Daedalus team, charged with studying the alien crystal and, above all, deciphering the vast amounts of data contained within the Tacitus.

The Daedalus Team

Following the Second Tiberium War, contamination on Earth has reached critical levels. Boudreau estimates that, at the current rate of Tiberium spread, the Earth’s atmosphere could become entirely toxic to humans in less than a year. Finding a solution therefore becomes a matter of survival for humanity.

She works closely with Tratos, leader of the Forgotten and one of the few individuals capable of partially understanding the Tacitus. Their relationship is cordial and based on their shared interest in the secrets of Tiberium.

At Tratos’s request, Boudreau oversees the transfer of the Tacitus and the research recovered from Kane’s facilities in Cairo. The device is loaded onto the Kodiak, but an ionic storm causes the ship to crash. Boudreau, who remained in Cairo, witnessed the crash.

The Death of Tratos

The situation worsened when Tratos was assassinated on the orders of CABAL.

His death is a scientific catastrophe. Boudreau explains to Paul Cortez that the translation of the Tacitus has just lost months, if not years, whilst humanity simply no longer has that kind of time.

She then proposes an extremely risky solution: to use CABAL itself to continue the translation. Nod’s artificial intelligence had already worked with Tratos and therefore possesses the necessary capabilities to interpret some of the alien data.

CABAL’s Betrayal

The GDI recovers CABAL’s core and installs it in the Daedalus complex. The AI does indeed assist the scientists and, in particular, helps them discover that the Tacitus is incomplete. A second part is then recovered in South America.

But CABAL had manipulated events.

Once the Tacitus is reconstructed, its Cyborgs turn against the GDI. Boudreau is forced to flee the complex whilst the artificial intelligence launches its own war against humanity.

After its evacuation, however, it continues to support operations against CABAL. In particular, its team succeeds in introducing a Virus into a Cyborg in order to disrupt the AI’s production facilities and facilitate the joint counter-offensive by the GDI and Nod.

The Tacitus Recovered

Following the destruction of CABAL’s forces, the Daedalus team finally recovers the complete Tacitus.

This time, the data is readable, but the volume is enormous. Boudreau therefore decides to focus her team’s efforts on analysing it.

This research would prove to be of considerable importance for the future. In particular, the information extracted from the Tacitus revealed that certain sonic technologies can break down Tiberium, a discovery that would later contribute to the GDI’s decontamination programmes and the preservation of its Blue Zones.

Paul Cortez

Boudreau has a special relationship with General Paul Cortez, Commander of Southern Cross: the two were once married.

Their past explains their sometimes particularly tense exchanges. Following Tratos’s assassination, Gabriella strongly reproaches Cortez for failing to protect him. Despite their personal differences, they work together effectively throughout the crisis against CABAL.

At the end of the conflict, Boudreau even jokes about their relationship: their professional cooperation clearly works much better than their marriage ever did.

Legacy

Gabriella Boudreau’s research represents a crucial step in the scientific fight against Tiberium.

Together with the work of Ignatio and Sydney Mobius, the use of the Tacitus enables the GDI to develop new methods of control and decontamination. These advances contribute directly to keeping the Blue Zones habitable for decades to come.

Her work on the Tacitus remains significant enough to be mentioned even in the era of Kane’s Wrath.
