Red Alert 3 Evening

Following the Video Games Festival, Gregory Queste, Community Manager, decided to organise an event for the French-speaking community on 31 October 2008.

It was a first for the French-speaking Command and Conquer community: an event just for us.

50 per cent of the CnCSaga staff were present: Tchutch and Xendoka from Strasbourg, Angelos and Jul from Belgium, Kaiser-Scott, who lives in Paris, Gargeto, who had come from Rennes, Nathyel and Vodka, who had come from the North, Odyssee and Areznist from Chambéry, Zéphyr and Leno from Neuchâtel (Switzerland), Darkhand from Normandy, Divadawm from Clermont-de-l’Oise (north of Paris), LordZee from Clermont-Ferrand (central France), and Otheym from Bordeaux.

Members of Time of War were also present that evening, such as Gandalf and Lepidosteus.

And in a first, Greg had authorised a competition to be held on both websites (CnCSaga and TOW) for this private event, so that members of the community could attend, such as Ga3L, CnCBoy, Apolyon, Sulfuric, Dr Thrax, bapor, Gdr-Games, Leownzall, etc. The event took place at the LDLC centre in the 15th arrondissement.

The first part of the evening saw the arrival of everyone who was due to attend, along with a surprise visit from Raj Joshi and David Silverman, the presenters of Battlecast Primetime. Greg gave a speech of thanks and kicked things off with some warm-up matches, during which Raj was once again soundly beaten by David, whilst other members of the community also had a field day playing against our guests from EALA.

In the second part of the evening, a 2v2 tournament organised by Gargeto from CnCSaga and Gandalf from Time of War got underway, and was won by Dr Thrax and Bapor.

The third part of the evening featured the costume prizes, as it was Halloween.

Meanwhile, the Battlecast Primetime France team presented Episode 1 during the evening, which Raj and David loved. They then filmed interviews with David and Raj, as well as with Grégory Queste.
