Behind the scenes: Nathyel

A few questions for Nathyel, head of the video team at CnCSaga.com and Battlecast PrimeTime France:
How did you come up with the idea for Battlecast PrimeTime France?
Well, actually, it wasn’t me who came up with the idea, but Tchutch, after seeing just a tiny glimpse of my artistic potential (a reference to his buzz in April 2008 about a second expansion for C&C3: The Prophecy of Tacitus as well as various banners created for TOW.
We had a long chat about what I might be able to bring to the community; one thing led to another, and Tchutch quickly put his trust in me to tell me about the BCPT FR project, which was quite a risk given that he barely knew me (less than four weeks), that TOW were also courting me at the time to join their staff, and that no one else on the cncsaga staff was or was supposed to be aware of this project. ^^As a result, I was very touched by the trust he placed in me so quickly; I accepted straight away because I thought the idea was fantastic and, for me, it’s both a challenge and a way of doing my bit to contribute to the important foundation on which Saga already stands.
What was the biggest challenge in this episode?
Satisfying the French C&C community with the resources at hand, as it was clear to me from the outset that I didn’t want a BCPT in the Danish style. I wanted to produce a French BCPT that was as professional as possible, which wasn’t easy when you only have amateur equipment.
What are you most proud of in this episode?
The programme’s introduction, with the French satellite link taking over from the US one.
What are your thoughts on the upcoming episodes of Battlecast PrimeTime France?
A more professional look with a style closer to “BCPT US”, and a shorter 15-minute format compared to the US version (editor’s note: BCPT US episodes are 30 minutes long)
But also “BCPT FR Interview” episodes which, as the name suggests, will be dedicated solely to interviews with the players and creators of the C&C scene, and then other surprises to come, but… shhh!
5) Would you be interested in a joint France-US BCPT programme?
Of course ;)
