Fifteen new missions are now available in the “The Covert Operations” expansion pack. The release of Command & Conquer caused a scandal: an advertising campaign featured a range of dictators supposedly well-versed in the art of war, including President Jacques Chirac... (the controversy over French nuclear tests was then in full swing). Beyond the provocation, this game has established itself as one of the most accomplished wargames on the PC. Fifteen new missions are now available in the “The Covert Operations” expansion pack, which features ten new battlefields and two multiplayer missions (these are only accessible to owners of the full game). It is therefore up to the player to choose a side and face either the computer or a human opponent to secure control of the deposits of Tiberium, a rare and coveted metal. Far more challenging than Warcraft II, this expansion pack is superbly crafted: the attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the scenery; outside of combat phases, you can even watch troops training whilst at rest… Each mission is introduced by a remarkable CGI cutscene. However, its high-quality graphics do not make it a game for novices: only veterans well-versed in the intricacies of Command & Conquer will stand a chance of triumphing.
