Electronic Arts’ C&C: Red Alert 3 - Uprising is back!

Next March, discover a new epic campaign in the famous real-time strategy game franchise!

Los Angeles, California, 8 January 2009 – Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) announced today that the third instalment in the Red Alert franchise is set to make a grand return with Command & Conquer™ Red Alert 3: Uprising, exclusively on PC. With an epic new single-player campaign, this game will catapult players straight into the heart of the Red Alert universe, offering ever-smoother and more dynamic gameplay, whilst providing a host of new challenges in Command Challenge mode. Command & Conquer™ Red Alert 3: The Uprising will be available for digital download from next March.

“The Uprising responds to the feedback and expectations of the Command & Conquer community,” explains Amer Ajami, senior producer at EA Los Angeles. “We’re going to give them everything they want: gameplay that’s even faster, smoother and more fun, a storyline that delves deeper into the story of Red Alert 3, and new cutscenes featuring numerous Hollywood stars. What’s more, we’ll be adding several extras to this already enticing line-up, including new units and the Command Challenge mode, which will allow players to hone their skills on the battlefield.”

Command & Conquer™ Red Alert 3: The Uprising plunges players into the aftermath of the intense battles of Red Alert 3. Whilst the Soviets are still reeling from their crushing defeat, the Empire of the Rising Sun is desperately seeking to regain its identity and honour, whilst the Allies strive to root out the corruption and treachery rife within their ranks. To complement its four mini-campaigns (one for each faction, plus a bonus adventure centred on the origins of Yuriko Omega), Command & Conquer™ Red Alert 3: The Uprising will also include the Command Challenge mode, which offers players the chance to prove their worth against nine Commanders – spanning all factions and difficulty levels – across 50 unique challenges, each with specific rules and victory conditions.

In true Command & Conquer tradition, Hollywood actors will feature in the high-definition cutscenes of a single-player mode that’s more captivating than ever. Fan favourites such as Gemma Atkinson and Ivana Milicevic are set to make a triumphant return to the ranks of the Allies and the Soviets, whilst new stars – whose names will be revealed shortly – are set to join them.

Command & Conquer™ Red Alert 3: The Uprising is a brand-new standalone game. Command & Conquer™ Red Alert 3 is not required to play it. This product has not yet received a PEGI rating. Discover the eclectic cast of the latest instalment in the Red Alert series!

Los Angeles, California, 27 January 2009 – Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) today unveiled the cast of the cutscenes for Command & Conquer™ Red Alert 3: The Uprising, the upcoming single-player campaign expansion for the hit game Command & Conquer™ Red Alert 3, released last autumn. A direct sequel to the intense battles of the previous instalment, Command & Conquer™ Red Alert 3: The Uprising continues the franchise’s tradition with new cutscenes featuring an eclectic cast. Featuring science fiction legends, rising stars and familiar faces from the small screen, the cast of Command & Conquer™ Red Alert 3: The Uprising features (in alphabetical order): Jamie Chung (Dragonball Evolution), Ric Flair (16-time world heavyweight wrestling champion), Malcolm McDowell (Heroes, A Clockwork Orange, Wing Commander), Jodi Lyn O’Keefe (Prison Break) and Holly Valance (seen in the series Neighbours, amongst others), as well as fan favourites Gemma Atkinson and Ivana Milicevic.

“The Command & Conquer franchise has always stood out for its gripping storylines and high-quality cutscenes. Uprising naturally honours this legacy,” explains Amer Ajami, senior producer at EA Los Angeles. “ For Uprising, we’re delighted to have once again assembled a diverse and talented cast who, I’m sure, will be appreciated by all fans both in the traditional cutscenes and in the Command Challenge, which will pit players against several of the game’s stars. ”

“ “When I heard that EA wanted to include me in the Command & Conquer cast, I let out a huge cry of joy,” explains Ric Flair, 16-time World Heavyweight Wrestling Champion, who plays Commander Hill, whom players will face in the Command Challenge mode. “The filming went really well and, even though I’ve retired from sport, I think my fans will be delighted to see the ‘Nature Boy’ style and persona applied here to military tactics. What’s more, I’m sure my children will love being able to take me on on the battlefield!”

Malcolm McDowell, who plays European Union President Rupert Thornley and who has previously appeared in the cutscenes of the Wing Commander franchise, adds: “ It’s fantastic to be able to work with such talented actors. The quality of a video game’s cutscenes often helps to enhance the immersive experience. A few years ago, the cutscenes in many games often left a lot to be desired. Today, players spend a lot of time and money on video games, so they deserve high-quality products and videos, and I think Uprising will deliver just that.”
