Single-Player Solution
Allied Forces:
Mission 1: Brighton Beach – The Red Threat
This first mission is easy and exciting. You start with 2 dogs and 4 Peacekeepers. The rule is simple: eliminate all the Soviets. The dogs will make short work of the Conscripts; use the Peacekeepers to kill the bears to save 2 of them. Eliminate the bears and conscripts further down to gain another 2 Soldiers. Next, eliminate the patrolling infantry, those guarding a building and, finally, those around the VCM to rescue it with the other Soldiers. Your base builds itself, just like Gilles’s. The map expands.
>From now on, various waves of Soviets will land. The 4 Garrisonable Structures marked with a “1” must be garrisoned to complete the first secondary objective. Train an Engineer to capture the hospital. (2nd bonus objective) Continue training infantry. The first wave consists of paratrooper conscripts who are easy to eliminate. The same goes for the second wave. After that, you’ll be asked to repair the coastal guns. Send engineers in to complete the third bonus objective. Train at least five Javelin Soldiers for the fourth bonus objective. The next wave (the third) will contain a host of Conscripts, Bears, Flak Troopers and Stingrays landing on your side. The fourth wave is similar and will land on your ally’s side. Once the last enemies have been eliminated, the second and third objectives are completed.
You must now prepare for the final wave. The Weapons Factory has been unlocked; deployit and build 5 Humvees for the 5th secondary objective. First, a small parachute drop of conscripts and bears to eliminate, followed by a second one. Then it’s the turn of the Dreadnoughts and Kirov Airships to land! Bombers will assist you. Normally, you should be able to manage this. The last Kirovs will retreat.
###Mission 2: Cannes – Trap in the Mediterranean
Your mission is, initially, a typical infiltration mission from the Allied campaigns, as seen in the first two Red Alert games. You can only produce Spies and Tanya if she dies. During your journey, Warren willwill deal with Soviet attacks. Shall we get going?
Take Tanya, accompanied by four spies whom you have previously disguised as conscripts, to the western beach of the western island. Send a spy into the Power Plant and quickly blow up the Tesla Coil with Tanya whilst taking out any conscripts who get in her way. (You canbuy Conscripts using the ‘cash’ function by spending $1,000 – it’s up to you to decide if it’s worth it...) Move forward with Tanya to the right, taking out conscripts and bears. Blow up the barracks and send a spy into the building marked with a “1”. Move upwards without coming into contact with the Tesla Coil, clearing the way as you go; you’ll need to blow up another set of barracks. All that remains is to infiltrate the second building. You’re done with the first island; leave via the right-hand side. (After deactivating and blowing up the Tesla Coil)
justify;">Make your way through the water, avoiding the bear patrols. Approach the islet on the far right to receive a bonus objective that will allow you to acquire aircraft for this mission. Deploy two spies near the power plants at the bottom and access theislet from above. Eliminate the conscripts. Send one spy into a Power Plant, blow up two or three Tesla Coils before the power comes back on, then repeat to destroy the remaining ones – the Vindicators are yours! In the meantime, Warren will already have rescued the allies by destroying the enemy units around the building marked with a “2” and completed the second objective for you.Next, approach whilst avoiding the bears on the west beach of the second island and land in the same way as on the first. Or use the Vindicators to destroy the Tesla towers. Take out the Conscripts and infiltrate the first building on the island. Continue clearing the area to the right, infiltrate a Power Plant and take the opportunity to blow up the Tesla tower on the right and the two Barracks. Continue eliminating any hostile forces as you move upwards. Infiltrate the last building after eliminating the two Conscripts in front of it. (First objective achieved.) Ignore the upper beach with the two Tesla Coils. Finally, send Tanya to the building marked with a “3”. A cutscene will show you all the submarines being recalled to port, where they will all blow up along with the Soviet Naval Yards and the docked Dreadnoughts! (3rd objective achieved) The rest of your base will then be built, and you’ll finally have access to offensive units.
Now, sink the Dreadnoughts marked with a “4” using Tanya (you can safely make your way along the upper beach whilst taking out the remaining Conscripts) to complete the fourth objective. Fun fact: there’s a shipyard left around the first island that you can capture with an Engineer; you can build a VCM there and develop a small Soviet base. Now, all that’s left is to launch a Rush and attack Moskvin’s base alongside Warren!
###Mission 3: Heidelberg – The Liberation
You start with four Hydrofoils and must escort the two VCMs onto land; destroy the Twinblades that will try to take out your VCMs. the first VCM lands and your co-commander Lissette arrives with four dolphins; you’ll need them because, once you reach your objective, you’ll face two Tesla Coils. Use the jamming cannon on the Coils with your Hydrofoils, and order your co-commander to attack with the dolphins. Once the coils are destroyed, the second VCM lands. First objective achieved.
Your second objective is to destroy the Iron Curtain so you can attack the enemy HQ. This mission may seem suicidal, as a ground assault would be crushed, but you have the Vindicators at your disposal. I advise you to build at least two airports (though building four is highly recommended) and to produce as many Vindicators as possible. To defend yourself on the ground, produce 8 Peacekeepers, 4 Attack Dogs, 6 Guardian Tanks, and Rocket Soldiers. you can free Tanya, who will be a great help in defence (bonus objective). Right, do you have your Vindicators? Attack the Nuclear Reactors (destroy at least four) to completeObjective No. 2, but Oleg sells these external defences to generate energy; that’s why you must destroy all the Nuclear Reactors. Now attack the Iron Curtain: Objective No. 3 completed.
the enemy HQ with your Vindicators; you’ll need at least 8 Vindicators to attack it and do serious damage. Objective No. 4 completed. justify;">Now finish off the enemy base with your aircraft or a tank rush, and there you have it: Europe is liberated.###Mission 4: Gibraltar – The enemy of our enemy
You start with Tanya at the controls, accompanied by Natasha, led by Moskvin. That’s right, your ally is Soviet! Lead your Commando unit north-west, eliminating the Japanese infantry as you go. A first secondary objective will appear, asking you to eliminate the King Oni roaming the mountains. He can be reached via the cable car slope; so give him a proper thrashing to complete this little objective. Carry on advancing, taking out the infantry whilst healing yourself with first-aid cubes if needed and blowing up the Empire’s structures. Let Natasha deal with the garrisonable structures. Clear the base, including the Weapons Factory marked with a ‘1’ and everything within it. Finally, to destroy the hangars marked with a ‘1’, simply destroy a mega-tengu on the ground to trigger a chain reaction. First mission objective completed!
The map resizes and you receive a deployed VCM and 3 Cryocopters as reinforcements. Expand your base alongside your Soviet ally. A second objective appears, asking you to retrieve the Assault Destroyer; to do this, you must destroy the four Japanese defence turrets ahead. With Moskvin’s assistance, send your Vindicators to minimise the risk. (Second objective completed)
The map expands for good, revealing Kenji’s base, and the third mission objective appears. You must raze this base, using the usual methods, in conjunction with Moskvin. A second bonus objective appears, prompting you to deploy a Prospector to the indicated location. Do so to gain additional resources. A little later, naval reinforcements from Naomi, coming from the south-east, will come to test you; send them to the bottom of the sea before they can establish a base that’s too large! Once the base in the north-west has been razed, you’ve won.
###Mission 5: North Sea – The Unfathomable Fortress
After the intro sequence, you’ll have a fleet of dolphins and hydrofoils to defend the rescue ship against the Empire’s attacks. Zhana will help you with her Stingrays and Bullfroggs. First objective completed at the end of the timer.
Next, you’ll receive 4 spies and Zhana will have her Natasha for the next task: destroying the first radar ship. Disguise your spies and send them one by one into the power plants so that Natasha has a clear field to attack them with the MiGs. Once the three power plants have been destroyed, order Natasha to attack the Radar Upgrade vessel. Second objective and first bonus completed.
For the next stage, you have Tanya, and Zhana will have four Engineers. Wipe out the Empire’s infantry and order the capture of a Power Plant once it is accessible to the Soviet Engineers. Some defences are deactivated, indicating which Power Plant to capture next. Once all 4 Power Plants have been captured, blow up the last Radar Upgrade boat. (Make sure to collect the 2 bonus crates containing money first.) 3rd objective and 2nd bonus completed.
A nice start to the mission, all of that! But this is where the serious business begins. You must now develop your base alongside Zhana’s. Build an extension on the island where the second Radar Upgrade ship was moored. Then capture the four Power Plants to deactivate the floating fortress’s heavy guns, then the two surrounding derricks and the Japanese Tiberium Refinery, having first cleared the area.
Start by destroying the Japanese defences with your air force, as well as the Naval Yards, to keep your opponent at bay. Zhana will offer to set up an outpost on the fortress when you tell her to. (By clicking on the halo that appears on the fortress) It’s best to have started clearing the area so she can do so without any trouble. Finally, to complete the mission, you must send an Engineer to each energy core, all at the same time. Mission accomplished.
**Mission 6: Mount Rushmore – A Monument to Madness**Here is the first mission in the AR Allies vs Allies series. You’re back in control of Tanya, and your ally Warren has 3 Engineers and 3 Spies. Take out the dogs as you make your way to the Power Plant in the top-left corner. Ask Warren to send a Spy into the Power Plant, then blow up the Power Plant and the Turret there, but spare the Barracks. (1st bonus objective completed) Wait for a second bonus objective to appear before ordering Warren to capture the Power Plant. (2nd bonus) You then have free rein to blow up the communications tower. (1st objective completed)
The map zooms out, showing you the President’s Hummer travelling along a road around the map. It acts as a timer for this mission. Expand your base and send Engineers to the derricks in the top right-hand corner as soon as possible. If the Hummer reaches a control centre, it will activate it and transform a carved head into A super Beam Cannon that will make short work of your vehicles. It’s up to you to take it out with an Engineer. To do this, parachute an Engineer in using a Century Bomber. (3rd, 4th and 5th bonus objectives)
You can then, with complete peace of mind, organise and launch a rush of Guardian Tanks and Mirage Tanks to raze the President’s base and, above all, destroy its key structure. (2nd objective achieved) Once this is done, the President will attempt to escape and the Hummer will teleport to the Airport in the south. Eliminate him before it’s too late, or destroy his plane
###Mission 7: Tokyo Bay – A Sun Extinguished Forever
You start with a fully-equipped base and must hold out against the Empire’s forces until the Soviets arrive. Don’t over-expand your base… Produce 4 Guardian Tanks and some infantry, then fill your 2 Airfields exclusively with Vindicators. Start by eliminating anyone who dares to land on your island. To complete the first bonus objective, you must destroy all floating structures marked with a ‘1’ before the timer runs out; it’s best to use the Vindicators for this, whilst calling on Lissette for help. But whether or not you manage to destroy this fleet won’t change what happens next, as the Soviets won’t be turning up… (1st mission objective) Furthermore, Tatsu will use his super-weapon on your island, obliterating everything on it in one fell swoop, with the exception of the VCMs. You’ll have to start all over again! (You can move your units to the beach on the far right before the event to spare them)
You’ll then receive a Chronosphere, which you must use to teleport your folded-up VCM to the location marked with a ‘2’ and deploy it there. (2nd objective) Now, develop your new base with your favourite units in preparation for a full-scale attack. You should, of course, target the Empire’s super-weapons firstEmpire; destroy the defences with your Vindicators and chrono-transport Mirage Tanks to that location.
During the festivities, Tatsu’s flotilla will turn up uninvited, so give them a warm welcome.
(4th Objective) Continue the attack by destroying the structures marked with a ‘3’ to secure victory. Whilst you’re at it, you can capture a Japanese VCM to make use of the Empire’s units.###Mission 8: Havana – The Great Trap
To begin with, keep your units concealed by the field generated by Giles’ special Mirage Tank. The first objective will be automatically achieved once the Mirage Tank reaches the first marker. It will then be stopped by enemy troops. Take this opportunity to recruit all sorts of Soviet units, choosing from the most promising ones available. ($1,000) Recruit Engineers and capture the Grinder and the Weapons Factory. Once that’s done, recruit a barrage of Soldiers so that Giles’s tank can advance. The first secondary objective should then be achieved, provided you have at least 10 Soviet units. Apocalypse Tanks and a Bear will block your path, but Giles’s tank should make short work of them with your troops. The second objective is completed when the Mirage Tank is in front of the Soviet base, at the second marker. Then destroy all the buildings marked with a ‘3 ’. Third objective achieved.
Now, five stadiums will transform into Kirov launch pads, and you’ll receive the resources to build a base. You must therefore quickly develop a base, with a view to destroying these stadiums, which will continuously produce Kirovs. And under no circumstances must a Kirov reach the northern edge, otherwise,it’s game over! (5th objective) Giles should deal with three-quarters of the fleeing Kirovs, but one or two will slip past him from time to time… So it’s up to you to catch them with your Apollos and MiGs (if you’ve captured Soviet technologies, of course…) Otherwise, any means are fair game to destroy the stadiums. (Vindicators, Mirage Tanks, Apocalypse Tanks, Aircraft Carriers, Twinblades… and Kirovs) And don’t forget that there are resources you can easily secure in the north-west.
###Mission 9: Leningrad – A Moon Lost Forever
You start with a reduced VCM, as does Warren. You must take it to the designated location. (1st and 2nd objectives achieved) Once the VCM has been deployed, 6 Mirage Tanks will arrive as reinforcements; you must then clear the map of all Red forces present there. (3rd objective achieved)
The location that hosted the tutorial mission in the Soviet campaign also hosts the game’s toughest mission. You must destroy the 7 Iron Curtains protecting thecentral island, then the launch base, in under 40 minutes on Easy mode, 30 minutes on Medium and 20 on Hard! And bear in mind that the Soviets won’t let you get away with it; they’ll send a plethora of tanks to attack your base.
text-align: justify;">Redeploying your VCM amongst the buildings allows you to use them as low-cost defences by filling them with Javelin Soldiers. Build two airfields, a Weapons Factory and the two super-weapons as quickly as possible, then produce Vindicators and Mirage Tanks. Feel free to recruit the waves of Soviet tanks coming to attack you using your spies. Warren should easily wipe out the base in the north-west, but it’s up to you to organise the destruction of the Iron Curtains. The two furthest to the north-west are easily reached by the Vindicators, as these bases are poorly defended against the air force. The three located directly opposite your position can be dealt with by a chronoported deployment of your Mirage Tanks (or, better still, APCs loaded withEngineers to capture the Iron Curtains and resell them), whilst the last two are the best defended. A hit from a Proton Collider should clear them for easier access; you can also use your co-Commander’s by clicking on an Iron Curtain, then on the ‘Execute’ command. (4th mission objective) The same applies to the launch padIf you have at least minutes left on the timer at this point, that should be enough time to attack the rocket launch pad in the centre, which is now open to your attacks. Use every means at your disposal to do so. End of the Allied campaign.
Soviets:
###Mission 1: Leningrad - Mother Russia
As soon as you take control of Natasha, order her to kill the Japanese troops, then launch an air raid on the archway in the wall. (What a shame about the monument...) Then eliminate the enemy troops around the fortress. First objective achieved.
After the dialogue, train 5 ‘Flak troopers’ at the Barracks, or even a few more. Second objective achieved. Now, eliminate all the Imperial troops who try to force their way into the fortress, until the third objective is completed.
The map will then expand. You’ll receive a Bullfrog. Use it to send your troops, including Natacha, to the vicinity of the Hermitage, which you must protect to complete the optional objective. To do this, eliminate all the Imperial infantry in the vicinity. Once this is done, a Bullfrog will appear; use it to return your infantry to the fortress.
Destroy the amphibious tanks that appear once more, send Natacha into the water and use her air strike to destroy the Battleships. Also use the magnetic power you’ll be given for this. You will complete the final mission objective once you have sunk all the battleships.
###Mission 2: Krasna 45 – The Circus of Treachery
Right from the start, eliminate the imperial infantry with your 3 Sickles, heal them using the bonus crate, then blast them across the river. Eliminate more infantry and samurai. Advance, and some bears will join you. Eliminate the Tank Hunters, and direct your troops to the right to rescue the Tesla Troopers after eliminating the enemy troops holding them back. First optional objective achieved. You’ll receive a second similar one, this time located in the top-left corner. More Tesla soldiers will join you once you’ve freed them from the cage. Continue on your way, eliminating two tanks and all the infantry you encounter along the way. Finally, clearthe barrage of tanks and T-Rexes blocking your access to the launch base. Take Natacha there to complete the first mission objective.
More Sickles will join you. The marquees will disappear, revealing the Japanese forces they were concealing. You must eliminate them all to complete the mission. But be aware that you will receive no further reinforcements. You must therefore make skilful use of your remaining troops and your powers. Use satellite bombardments on the small vessels, and watch out for Yuriko, who can wipe out all your units in a single strike.
###Mission 3: Vladivostok – The Recapture of the Frozen Bay
Move your Bullfrogs close to the island and drop your troops there. Begin the necessary mop-up operation on the island; Stingrays (Tesla boats) will join you to finish the job. First objective achieved. You will then receive a VCM; deploy it. Build a Power Plant and a Tiberium Refinery near a gold mine (or even two), a barracks and a Naval Yard to complete your second mission objective. Build defences (at least one of each type) to complete the first optional objective.
justify;">Build more Stingrays and load up your Bullfrogs, in preparation for attacking the Empire’s first base, located on the coast at the bottom right. Deploy the infantry and destroy the Power Plants to complete a second secondary objective. Once the enemy’s coastal defences have been neutralised, two Dreadnoughts will join you. Remember to capture the docks in the bottom right-hand corner with an Engineer. Destroy or capture (I suggest the Weapons Factory) the buildings at the first base to complete the third objective. Also capture the hospital and clear out the buildings occupied by the enemy. You must now plan an attack on the naval base in the top-left corner of the map. Prepare another Stingray rush, accompanied by Bullfrogs to defend them against air units. Make use of your Battleships as well. As you break through the defences, you’ll be given the chance to capture a Barracks with an Engineer who will join your forces. Make the most of it. You’ll complete the fourth objective once this base has been overrun.
To complete this mission, you must destroy the enemy’s castle, which shouldn’t pose a problem, but watch out for the sizeable elite guard, the armada that will attack Zhana’s base, and the kamikaze planes that will target your rushes.
###Mission 4: Geneva – The Red Army’s Advance
You start with a base built on water, introducing you to this new feature in AR3. Deploy at least one Tesla Coil, which you’ll reinforce with Stingrays. Also, deploy a Barracks and a Weapons Factory at your teammate’s base.
The bonus objective for this mission is to capture all 6 Swiss banks. Let Oleg take 2 of them during this mission and take the rest yourself. Start by securing the corner of land in the top-left of the map and capture the 3 structures there: a bank, a hospital and a radar station to keep this part of the map uncovered. Also capture the radar station on the opposite bank.
Build a tank rush as usual, accompanied by a few anti-air units, and attack the first Allied base in the bottom right together with your ally, making sure to capture the nearby banks. Destroy the Allied support port marked with a “1” to complete the first objective, and the first Allied base to complete the second. Once this is done, you’ll see a cutscene, then the map will zoom out and Krukov’s forces will land. His Command Hub must remain standing until the end of the mission, or you will be defeated. And although he is your ally, he won’t hesitate to recapture your banks – let him get on with it… You’ll gain two V4 launch pads and the ability to train troops.
You must now clear the second allied base in the top right-hand corner, which is slightly larger. Always launch rushes alongside your allies to do battle.
###Mission 5: Mykonos – The Science of War
You start with Zhana in the bottom left with a good base, but certain technologies are off-limits for the time being. You’ll have to make do with ships and helicopters. I therefore advise you to train 4 or 5 Twinblades and immediately attack the techinhibitor marked with a “1”. Completing this bonus objective will then allow you to build the structures that were previously locked, namely a Barracks, a Weapons Factory and a Battle Lab.
The first mission objective is to expand across the islands, which you must first clear. Launch a rush to do this, then deploy a Sputnik on the island opposite you. Your teammate must do the same. Whilst you’re at it, capture the Allied structures on the island that contained the Techno-Inhibitor. Once this is done, you’ll be asked to destroy the allies’ naval base and capture their research centre. You know the drill… The rush, and powers such as orbital bombs to make life miserable for your enemies. Don’t forget to defend against the allied fleet and sink the Aircraft Carriers that are keeping their distance…
Before capturing the research centre, bring a Sputnik close by – this is very important for what follows. Deploy it and build production facilities and defences all over the place. Produce plenty ofunits. Capture the complex, and a countdown will begin. You can now also train MiGs at the Helipads. And off we go for an epic battle! To secure victory, the complex must still be standing and in your hands when the timer runs out.
###Mission 6: Von Esling’s Base – Death to Traitors
This is a fast-paced mission, and probably the most difficult in the Soviet campaign. You start with a base on an island situated roughly in the middle, alongside Moskvin’s base, with a generous amount ofmoney. Spend freely to develop your base quickly. Indeed, when Krukov lands (the map expands), he’ll snatch half of your remaining funds. The rascal! Now, I’d advise you to place a few Engineers around his Construction Yard, as well as Twinblades or Kirovs-once they become available-above his fortress; this will prove very useful later on.
Indeed, after a while, Cherdenko will order you to destroy Krukov’s base – or rather, his Construction Yard and his fortress. Immediately order your patrolling helicopters to attack the fortress and send an Engineer to take the Construction Yard, which you’ll sell straight away. Incidentally, send and deploy a Sputnik onto the spit of land to complete thebonus objective. Once Krukov’s two key structures are destroyed, all his remaining forces will come under your control! Second objective completed. Take advantage of the end of the two-front battle to capture the derricks in peace. Meanwhile, the map has expanded further, revealing the Allies’ final base and a Proton Collider! Defend yourself well against the Allied fleet and Aircraft Carriers.
Now, you must plan attacks on the two Allied bases. Moskvin will probably have already cleared the one above him. But the one on the right is surrounded by cliffs and is only accessible by air or via a Bullfrog airdrop. Organise a landing force consisting of Twinblades loaded with tanks and airdrop a few Engineers and Natacha. I suggest you capture whatever you can so that you can develop an . How about a Chronosphere-Iron Curtain combination? Note that for the first objective to count, the Allied shipyard must be destroyed, so you’ll need to sell it if you’ve captured it – which you can do in due course...
You’ll no doubt want to destroy the Proton Collider, but you can also capture it, though that’s a bit more labour-intensive… That leaves the topmost base to destroy. The choice of method is yours: satellite bombardments, Dreadnought shelling, or Surgical Strike using the Chronosphere-Iron Curtain combination…
###Mission 7: Mount Fuji – Taming a Living God
After a failed landing attempt, you’re left with just one Conscript and a bear at the controls of the Moskvin. Head down, and at the foot of the slope, turn left. Go down the next slope whilst waiting for the infantry to move out of the way, then turn right. When a new objective appears on the map, head in that direction. Shoot at the barrels (whose design is taken from C&C 3...) to create a diversion. (1st objective) Bombers have managed to blow a hole in the wall separating you from the Emperor’s garden, just to the top right of your current position. The Emperor is finally within firing range… (2nd Objective) In a predictable twist, the one you shot down was a decoy. Your small team is then taken prisoner.
Your VCM, accompanied by two Apocalypse Tanks, will land at the bottom left of the map, with two Tiberium Refineries that will build automatically. Moskvin has the same setup to the right of your position. From now on, stick to the same strategy: rapid expansion, defence, and preparing for a rush... Note that your two Apocalypse Tanks already provide you with good defence, against both ground and air forces. Capture the nearest oil rigs. Your ally will have no trouble taking control of the body of water.
When you feel ready, attack the bases of Shinzo (3rd objective), Naomi’s (4th objective) and Kenji’s (5th objective) bases in turn, in coordination with Moskvin, using an army of Apocalypse Tanks and Bullfroggs, accompanied by Engineers if you wish to unlock Imperial technologies... Whilst you’re at it, destroy all the enemy generators marked with a “1” to complete the first bonus objective.
So plan your attack on the final base by heading to the top-left corner of the map. (In fact, you’ll just need to destroy the Imperial Palace.) Complete the second, very simple bonus objective: rescue the Conscript and the bear who helped you at the start of this mission. To do this, simply move one of your units into the enclosure where they are being held. With the Palace destroyed, the Emperor has transferred his soul into a mighty “King Oni”, who will be no match for your army.
###Mission 8: Easter Island – The Impassive Witnesses
Your first objective is to create a sufficient ambush force to annihilate the allied fleet before the timer runs out. However, the approach remains standard: you must develop your base quickly so that you can build ships and aircraft. Capture at least one derrick on the mountainside. (of the volcano, actually...) Even if you’ve been a bit slow, Zhana should be able to handle it on her own in that case. At the end of the timer, attack the Emissary as soon as the negotiations finish. Eliminating the escort will be a mere formality.
Naturally, the Allies did not appreciate your treachery… Your second objective will therefore be to destroy their base to the west. (enlarged map) Once again, this will be nothing more than a mere formality. Whilst you’re at it, capture another derrick further up the slope and establish an Iron Curtain and a Tiberium Refinery to the south of your position. (Thanks to Sputnik...) Once the Allied base is destroyed, Cherdenko will show his true colours (or rather, let’s just say that time travel has fried a few of his brain cells…) and the rest of the map will be revealed, exposing his impressive base and his mechanised Moai at his beck and call! He also has more Tesla Tanks.
However, don’t let yourself be intimidated – he’s not as formidable as he looks. First, destroy his implosion missile, preferably before it’s launched, of course. (3rd objective) Then take out the structures perched atop the volcano, which are only accessible by air. A good ten Twinblades should do the trick...
###Mission 9: New York – Desolation in the Big Apple
The mission gets off to an amusing start, as you begin with a whole host of Terror Drones. Send them to take out the various allied vehicles, and especially the Prospectors, to complete your first objective. Then reinforcements (2 Kirovs, 4 Twinblades and 4 Tesla Tanks, the same for Moskvin) will arrive to help you finish clearing the area. (2nd objective) End of the fun bit...
Now the mission really begins. You must destroy the Statue of Liberty, a symbol of pride jealously guarded by the Allies, who are prepared to do anything to stop you and make your life a misery. Your base is starting to take shape (a Construction Yard, 2 Power Plants and 2 Tiberium Refineries) in the south of the map. It goes without saying that rapid development is essential! Whilst you’re doing this, a first secondary objective appears: eliminate Tanya. Simply wait for her to come to you, or let Moskvin deal with her. In the meantime, you’ll need to guard against parachute drops, tanks transported via the Chronosphere, and ships landing on the beach.
A little later, you’ll be asked to capture the New York Bank. First, eliminate the troops stationed there and send two Engineers via Twinblade to take the bank and the hospital. Second optional objective completed.
And finally, to achieve your aims, you must first destroy the Allied structures on the water. (turrets, Naval Yards and VCMs) To neutralise the defences on the rectangular island, bombard them with Dreadnoughts. Otherwise, any means are fair game to destroy the Allied super-weapons and the Statue of Liberty. If, by any chance, you need more resources, capture the Tiberium Refineries behind the Statue. (Send the Engineer just as the Harvester is unloading to get it.) End of the Soviet campaign.
Empire of the Rising Sun:
###Mission 1: Vorkuta – The Death of Father Frost
To begin with, disguise your Fulguro Troop Crawler as a Soviet unit and land on the small beach on the left. Deploy your units and take out the infantry. Advance north to destroy the first Power Plant and an Anti-Air Turret. Use the Final Squadron (power) on the second Power Plant; first objective achieved. The map expands.
Your co-commander will take care of the first barracks just to the right. Destroy the first statue at the bottom, whilst watching out for the Tesla Trooper. As you approach the hospital, you’ll receive Engineers to help you capture it; do so yourself or assign this task to Shinzo. (2nd bonus objective achieved) Next, destroy the statue in the south-east, then move upwards to destroy the second Barracks (1st bonus objective achieved) and the last two statues (2nd objective achieved), whilst watching out for Soviet units. The map expands further.
Beyond the bridge lies another dangerous Tesla Coil; camouflage your Troop Crawlers and place all your units inside them to cross safely, then destroy the coil with your Final Squadrons. The simplest approach is to destroy the Tesla Coils to complete the third objective, whilst eliminating the opposing infantry. Finally, clear out the harbour with yourYari and send all the Dreadnoughts to the bottom of the sea to complete the mission.
###Mission 2: Stalingrad – The Conquest of Lost Souls
Advance cautiously eastwards, eliminating the Flak Troopers with your Mega Tengu, then transform them into Tengu-Jets to shoot down the Twinblades that will come looking for trouble. Next, unload the Construction Yard onto the beach and deploy it at the indicated location to complete the first objective.
Begin developing your base by building 1 Reactor, 1 dojo and 2 Tiberium Refineries; then proceed as usual to build up a decent army. Attack the statue just to the left of your position, collecting the resource crates there. Kenji willtakes care of the derricks. Next, go and destroy the three statues in the north-east corner whilst collecting the crates.
Once that’s done, attack the main base containing the remaining statues. (First bonus objective and second objective) You will then be given a new objective asking you to protect the convoys. Various Soviet units will attempt to attack them; quickly eliminate the Apocalypse Tanks, Flak Troopers and Twinblades so that the convoys can pass.
###Mission 3: Odessa - The Sacred Power of the Sword
You have 4 Chopper-VXs to protect the convoys. Eliminating the Stingrays won’t be a problem, but it’s the Submarines that pose the greatest threat to the convoys, as they can only be destroyed when they’ve surfaced. So stay alert to ensure the situation doesn’t get out of hand. You can also set yourself the challenge of preventing their destruction altogether. Once you’ve reached the small island, land your choppers to take out the Twinblades. (1st objective achieved once the last one has arrived) By the way, that was the tricky part of the mission.
The Shogun Executioner makes his entrance, and it’s with this epic unit that you’ll raze the Soviet bases. Your objectives are the historic sites (1st bonus – there’s one next to the starting island) and the Artillery batteries. (2nd objective) Wipe them out methodically and remember that you can regenerate using Tesla shots if you take damage, and that you have the Omega Shockwave to eliminate multiple targets at once. Only the Twinblades and V4 launchers might cause you any concern. So go and raze the Soviet base (3rd objective) to complete the mission. Kenji is merely a bit-part player in this mission.
###Mission 4: Pearl Harbor – The Tomb of an Unholy Fleet
This mission is quite challenging. You start with a well-developed base in the south-west and Naomi’s base in the south-east. Distribute your defence drones around the monuments you need to defend, and build more Turrets. (Two next to each dock north of your position and the last one at the central monument. Naomi will take care of the last two…) Train Tsunami tanks and Yari Mini-Subs to perfect your defences. Send your engineers to capture the three long-range Radar Towers (Naomi will do the same), in order to complete the first bonus objective. The Allied attack is not long in coming…
-align: justify;">You’ll then be asked to protect these Radar Towers from the Allies, who’ll try to capture them – which would cause the second bonus objective to fail. A fleet of Naginata Cruisers will arrive as reinforcements in the meantime. Prevent the Allies from deploying VCMs near the coast. Hold out until the end of the timer to secure the first main objective and the second bonus objective. You will then receive a large fleet of Naginata Cruisers and Shogun Battleships as reinforcements, to raze the Allied base, but do not charge in headlong, as your ships cannot attack Allied aircraft (so you’ll need to add Tengu jets), and although the first visible structures are poorly defended, therear of the base is, on the other hand, bristling with Prism Towers and other Turrets, which, together with the air force and their cryo-fire, can sink your fleet very quickly. So proceed cautiously in order to defeat the Allied fleet. (2nd objective)###Mission 5: Pacific Ocean – The Black Turtle’s Assault
Angels are intercepting defenceless Allied VCMs; destroy them with your fleet. Do the same with the other VCM convoys, but don’t let them escape, and destroy a few Allied troops along the way, as well as a slightly stronger fleet towards the end. (1st objective completed) Next, you must escort Engineersthe cores. First, clear the platform of the Allied troops occupying it and capture the energy cores in under 3 minutes. (2nd objective and 1st bonus)
You’ll once again receive a host of combat ships, Battle Drones and a VCM to deploy your base on the fortress. You must now destroy the three Allied bases located to the south and east, whilst defending the energy cores. (3rd and 4th objectives) It is best to start by overrunning the two lightly defended bases to the east, where the Allies are concentrating their unit production. However, they are defending their south-western base unreasonably fiercely, with an unbelievable number of cannons. Is this a bug? Even so, it’s not easy to raze it to the ground. To do this, use the long-range firepower of the Shogun Battleships and prioritise the Power Plants and the shipyard.
###Mission 6: Santa Monica – The Black Turtle’s Rage
Blow up the Athena Cannons with the fortress’s heavy guns (1st objective), then expand your base. Destroy the surrounding houses to collect cash crates. Train up two Wave-Force Artillery units and have them accompanied by a handful of Tsunami Tanks. Capture the derrick near your position. Wipe out the allied base just above your position. Destroy the amusement arcades on the jetty just to the north. (3rd bonus objective)
Next, consider attacking the airbase in the south-east corner; I suggest you capture all the buildings there to benefit from allied technologies. Capture the Airport control tower (1st bonus objective) and the derrick right next to it. To destroy the observatory’s guns, use your powers (Final Squadron, Balloon Bombs) until it lies in ruins. (2nd bonus objective) All the whilst, gradually raze the large Allied base to the east in coordination with your co-commander. Capture the three media centres with Engineers as soon as they are secured. (2nd objective)
###Mission 7: Yokohama – The Bay of the Barbarians
Yuriko enters the scene… Take the only available path, eliminating Allied vehicles and infantry troops using the ‘telekinetic burst’ ’. After eliminating the second group of tanks at the bottom of the slope, watch out for another group of infantry. Once you reach the allied walls, the King Oni will arrive as reinforcements. Next, eliminate the soldiers on guard duty to receive ninjas as reinforcements. Once you reach your bases, tell Kenji which base he should take (take the two on the left), then clear the area to retake your bases and the Nanoswarm Cores. (1st objective and 1st bonus)
Unfortunately, you do not have a Construction Yard, so you must hold your position and save as many buildings as possible until reinforcements arrive at the end of the short timer. (5 mins) Build Shogun Battleships and Mechas-tengu to counter the Allied air force. Take out the Aircraft Carriers, which could cause you problems. It’s also advisable to destroy the Allied Naval Yards to give yourself some breathing space. (Use the ships or Yuriko for this, whilst watching out for Cryoshots that can take them out. A VCM finally arrives at the end of the timer. (2nd objective)
justify;">Now the real work begins: deploy two Tiberium Refineries on the islet to the left and a Barracks, which you should upgrade to the maximum. You must act before the end ofa new time limit or you’ll face defeat. To buy time, use your Nanoswarm Cores on the relay stations to freeze the timer for a moment and gain precious time. Use your co--Commander using the ‘execute’ command above these key structures. Train Angels and VX Raptors. As soon as you’re alerted to the arrival of Krukov’s forces, position your ships near the top-left corner toeliminate the Soviet fleet as quickly as possible. Eliminate any others arriving in the opposite corner that Kenji hasn’t sunk. Use the Shogun Battleships to destroy the enemy structures at the water’s edge and make clever use of Yuriko, the Angels and the Chopper-VX, which you cover with your Mechas-Tengus. Focus on all the Soviet structures to complete the second bonus, before destroying those pesky relay stations and finishing the mission. (3rd objective)###Mission 8: Moscow – Take the Kremlin
After your base has deployed automatically, quickly deploy your defence Turrets and train Tengu Mechas to eliminate the Soviet troops who will soon be advancing towards you. Upgrade your dojo and your Weapons Factory, deploy a nano server and your super weapon. Start training VX Raptors and destroy Tesla Coils to help your co-Commander. The Shogun Executioner should finally arrive. (1st objective)
And here we go again for another wild ride! But be careful, because this time the mission won’t be easy by any means, and it’s all too easy to lose this epic unit through carelessness. (3rd objective) Remember that fire from the Tesla Coils regenerates it. Start razing the first Soviet base. Krukov will interfere by sending his tanks and other units straight towards your bases from above – be wary of them. Once the road iscleared, take the two derricks on the islet with your Engineers. Do the same with the first highlighted Soviet VIP Pillbox so that all nearby enemy structures come under your control, but there’s no point in trying to preserve them. (However, you must prevent this Pillbox from being destroyed, or you’ll fail the first bonus.)
The map expands, with a second wave of forces to defeat; keep going in the same vein, eliminating Krukov’s Kirovs and Twinblades as they intervene. Capture the second VIP pillbox to achieve the same effect. (First bonus completed; it is no longer necessary to preserve these pillboxes…)
The rest of the map is revealed; you must now destroy the remainder of the Soviet base, whose forces are in a frenzy. This time, Krukov will send naval reinforcements, consisting of Dreadnoughts, Bulfrogs and others, which can be dangerous. Once you’ve dealt with them, finish clearing out the whole of Moscow, then finish off with the Kremlin. (2nd objective) Be careful, this is when you need to be quick on your feet, because once this structure is destroyed, the Soviets will attempt to evacuate the time machine from the Kremlin’s foundations. Quickly take out the Anti-Air Turrets that will appear around it, (or avoid staying near them…) then chase down the Twinblade carrying the box before it leaves the area. You can also deploy the Decimator Core here at the right moment. (3rd and 4th objectives achieved)
###Mission 9: Amsterdam – The Reds’ Last Gasp
To begin with, eliminate the forward allied base (1st objective); a VCM and drones will arrive as reinforcements. Deploy them quickly, then build a server, A Decimator Core and upgrade your dojo and Weapons Factory. Flying units are unavailable at the start of the mission, so fall back on Oni Kings and Wave-Force Artillery to attack the first Allied base, with the help of your co-Commander and clicking on the waypoints. (2nd objective) Flying units are finally available; train some. To neutralise the Proton Colliders, which are bound to cause you trouble, simply destroy the Power Plants to cut their power. Use your superweapon if necessary. (1st bonus)
This is when Zelinsky and his Soviets will arrive as reinforcements, and the battle will get tougher. Unfortunately, Shinzo’s forces may end up being completely wiped out, and you’ll just have to make do with that, if it happens. Wipe out the last allied base in the top left, (3rd objective) before dealing with the Reds. Attack the futuristic HQ. Once its health bar is halved, Zelinsky goes completely berserk and will raze the entire Dutch capital to the ground in a barrage of explosions, including his own base! The combat zone will then be confined to the area around the HQ, and you’ll have a small elite strike force at your disposal. Use it wisely to eliminate the Red troops so you can finally destroy the key structure without any trouble. (4th objective) Mission accomplished! Now sit back and enjoy the well-deserved ending cutscene…
