Frequently Asked Questions
GAME MECHANICS
How can I obtain resources?
You can obtain resources by:
- Building structures that generate resources;
- Fighting;
- Completing missions assigned by the game;
- Collecting supply crates from The Forgotten’s bases.
Which buildings produce resources and what resources do they produce?
To obtain Tiberium, build a Harvester on a Tiberium field (green).
To obtain crystal, build a harvester on a crystal field (blue).
To obtain energy, build a Power Plant.
To obtain credits, build a Tiberium Refinery.
There is no building that produces research points. These are only obtained through combat.
Which resources can be obtained through combat?
You can obtain Tiberium, crystals, money and research points through combat. Energy cannot be obtained directly through combat. (However, it is possible to obtain a supply crate containing energy from certain bases; see below.) The amount of resources obtained is calculated based on the level of the targeted base. Destroying a higher-level base yields more resources.
Which resources are available via supply crates?
There are supply crates for Tiberium, crystals, energy and silver. You can use a supply crate provided that:
- You have enough supply points (these regenerate over time);
- You have reached the required rank to use them. (This rank increases with each victory).
The resources are then added to the base you select (apart from silver, which is shared amongst all bases; see below). You can also click on the “+” button next to a resource; this is a shortcut to activate a supply crate at the selected base. Research points are not available in the form of supply crates.
Are resources shared between bases?
Tiberium and crystal are not shared between bases, but can be transferred between them (this will cost you a few credits). Energy is not shared between bases and cannot be transferred. Money and research points are shared and can be used anywhere.
How can I obtain supply crates?
Some camps, outposts or Forgotten bases contain a supply crate. This crate can be obtained by destroying the building with the following icon.
The type of crate received is random. You can also obtain crates by completing missions or by purchasing them via the in-game shop. To view the crates in your possession, use the ‘Inventory’ button in the top bar.
What can I do with my resources?
You can use Tiberium to build structures in your base, as well as certain defensive structures. You can use Crystal to build units (both offensive and defensive). Energy is used to upgrade buildings and high-level units. Credits can be used to transfer resources between bases or, together with research points, to unlock units and structures.
What is a production bonus?
Certain structures in your base can produce additional batches of resources at regular intervals; these are known as production bonuses. For this to happen, these buildings must be positioned adjacent to other buildings.
How can I get a production bonus?
To get a production bonus on a harvester, build a silo on an adjacent square.
To get a production bonus on a Power Plant, build an Accumulator on an adjacent square.
To obtain a production bonus on a Tiberium Refinery, build a Power Plant on an adjacent square.
When do I receive a production bonus?
If you have a building that meets the above criteria for a production bonus, that building will generate a production bonus at regular intervals. The amount of the bonus depends on the production building’s level. The waiting time between each bonus depends on the number and level of adjacent support buildings. When a bonus is available, a yellow icon will appear on the building. Simply click on the icon to add the bonus to the base’s stocks.
What if I don’t collect a production bonus?
Each building can generate up to two production bonuses. When two bonuses are ready, the building stops producing production bonuses until you collect them.
What is a production speed bonus?
A production speed bonus allows a building to generate resources more quickly. This system is different from the production bonus system.
How can I obtain a production speed bonus?
A Power Plant gains a 25% speed bonus for each adjacent crystal field.
A Tiberium Refinery gains a 25% speed bonus for each adjacent Tiberium field.
Tiberium or crystal fields do not need to have a Harvester on them to grant the bonus, although this is permitted. The maximum speed bonus is 100 per cent, which corresponds to 4 adjacent fields.
