Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun, released in 1999, retains the gameplay and atmosphere of the original Command & Conquer. The game engine was modified to use a three-quarter top-down view, providing a better sense of perspective without using true polygonal 3D.
Universe & Lore
Tiberium has ravaged the planet and caused part of humanity to mutate, creating The Forgotten. Kane, who was believed to be dead, resurfaces to lead the Second Tiberium War against the GDI in a dark science-fiction world.
Thirty years after the end of the First Tiberium War and the GDI’s victory, the Brotherhood of Nod is divided and severely weakened, whilst the GDI continues its research into Tiberium.
Kane’s body, which was lost during the great battle of Sarajevo, was never recovered, and many within the GDI regard this oversight as a grave mistake.
And the start of 2030 seems to confirm their fears with an unexplained surge in the Brotherhood’s activities.
