Cold War Crisis

The Cold War heated up in the 1980s, with the two blocs embroiled in a terrible war in Europe; this is the backdrop to Cold War Crisis. CWC aims to be a realistic mod: no chemical weapons or Nuclear Missile Silos here; both sides – the USA and the Soviet Union – have a realistic arsenal.

Cold War Crisis is a total conversion. Not only have the factions been changed, but the gameplay has too. It’s closer to Company of Heroes, focusing on territorial control with limited resources. Another thing: don’t even think about spamming an army of tanks. Vehicles are expensive and highly vulnerable to the infantry’s anti-tank weapons. So be careful, or you risk getting seriously frustrated when your T-72 gets blown to bits by a GI lying in wait… Who said, ‘sounds like a true story’???

It’s worth noting that the AI is ruthless, which, combined with the demanding gameplay, makes the mod particularly challenging. You’ve been warned… If needed, there’s a rather well-made tutorial available in-game to help you learn the basics.
